Our PVC Coated Gabion Baskets are double-twisted hexagonal wire mesh containers engineered specifically for heavy-duty earth retention, slope stabilization, and erosion control. Manufactured in strict compliance with ASTM A975 (Style 3), each unit features a heavily zinc-coated or Galfan (Zn-5% Al-MM) steel wire core extruded with an organic polymer PVC protective coating.
The double-twist woven construction ensures continuous structural integrity without unraveling even under localized stone shifting, differential ground settlement, or extreme hydrodynamic shear forces. These baskets are supplied flat-packed, folded into position on-site, and filled with natural stone to create monolithic, free-draining gravity structures.
| Parameter | ASTM A975 Style 3 Standard | Available Options / Tolerances |
| Mesh Type | Double-twisted hexagonal mesh | Mesh 8×10 (nom. 3.25 in / 83 mm opening) or Mesh 6×8 |
| Core Wire Material | Soft-temper low carbon steel wire (ASTM A641 / ASTM A856) | Tensile strength: 55,000–75,000 psi (380–515 MPa) |
| Metallic Undercoat | Class 3 Zinc coating or Galfan (Zn-5% Al-MM) | Galfan undercoat provides up to 3× the corrosion resistance of standard zinc |
| Mesh Wire Diameter | Core: 0.106 in (2.7 mm) / Outer: 0.146 in (3.7 mm) | PVC nominal thickness: 0.020 in (0.50 mm) |
| Selvedge Wire Diameter | Core: 0.134 in (3.4 mm) / Outer: 0.174 in (4.4 mm) | Heavy gauge edges to prevent edge fraying |

Dual-Layer Anti-Corrosion Barrier: Combining hot-dip galvanization or Galfan alloy with an impermeable, UV-resistant PVC outer layer shields the core wire from aggressive chemicals, marine salinity, acidic soils, and standing water.
Flexible Gravity Structure: Unlike rigid concrete walls that crack and fail during ground displacement, double-twisted gabions naturally deform and adjust to subgrade settlement without loss of structural capacity.
Natural Drainage & Hydraulic Relief: Stone matrix provides high natural permeability, dissipating hydrostatic pressure behind the wall automatically. Eliminates the need for complex, costly artificial sub-drainage systems.
Ecological Integration: Gaps between rock fill naturally collect sediment over time, supporting root growth and vegetative cover to blend into the surrounding landscape.
Rapid Jobsite Deployment: Delivered folded flat for efficient container shipping; erected quickly using pneumatic lacing tools or manual tie wire without requiring specialized heavy machinery.
Slope Stabilization & Landslide Mitigation: Reinforcing highway embankments, railway cuttings, and steep hillsides subject to slippage.
Retaining Wall Construction: Tiered or vertical gravity retaining walls for commercial sites, highway expansion, and residential grade changes.
Riverbank & Channel Lining: Scour protection, stormwater canal armor, and stream bank training under high flow velocities.
Coastal & Marine Infrastructure: Seawalls, breakwaters, groin structures, and tidal zone revetments exposed to aggressive saltwater environments.
Culvert Headwalls & Bridge Abutments: Scour aprons, culvert wing walls, and bridge pier protection against hydraulic erosion.
